On Thursday I was struck down by the stomach flu. I went to work feeling kinda bad, but not sick, and rapidly declined for the rest of the day. I managed to make it through and hour of Japanese which was good since I really need the practice. Then the five students who weren’t on the ski trip had study hall, so that was low impact. At some point I went to the office to take my temperature and the office lady suggested I “take a rest” in the principles office (he was also off skiing). I think I napped for about an hour and then stumbled off when the office staff started to have lunch. The smell of food was making me feel really sick, so I sat on the restroom floor and convinced myself I wasn’t going to throw up. I fell asleep on the couch in my classroom and I remember one of the nicer students coming in and saying “Is Ms. McFarlane ok?” in a really worried voice. It was adorable but I must have looked like such a mess. My boss drove me to the nearest subway stop and I stumbled home. I was feverish and delirious and my roommate took really good care of me. I remember whining for IV fluids, which now I think is really funny because who whines for something like that? It would be one thing if I lived with a nurse, but would you want to encourage a regular citizen to stick you with a needle and feed you saline? No. Not at all.
I’m starting to feel normal today, but my stomach is still protesting most foods. I really can’t wait for this winter of freezing temperatures and influenza to be over.
I’m currently obsessed with Marina and the Diamonds.
I don’t know why I’ve never heard of this girl before because her sound is right up my alley. I found one of her songs remixed on youtube and then looked for the original. The first few times I listened to the album Marina didn’t do much for me, but then she took over my mind and I can’t stop listening. I realize and am unashamed of the fact I love pop music.
Edit:

Forgot to mention that I bought these shoes. I’m worried that they wont fit as it sounds like a lot of people have complaints, but they where almost half off and I really really like them. I think my sister would approve too.
